Gua Sha Student Portal
Your Gua Sha journey continues here.
Thank you so much for joining my Gua Sha class!
Here you’ll find everything you need to continue your practice at home. From skin prep tips and tool care, to an introductory video where I demonstrate some basic techniques you can follow anytime.
Preparing Your Skin
Always begin with freshly cleansed skin.
Start by applying a very generous layer of facial mist to your face, neck and decolletage and massage into the skin.
Once your skin is damp, massage 1-3 drops of facial oil into your face and neck. Because your skin is damp you shouldn’t need too much oil.
The combination of facial mist and oil provides slip for your Gua Sha to glide along the skin and and prevent pulling or tugging.
If your skin feels dry throughout the treatment, reapply some facial mist to reactivate the facial oil.
Gua Sha Tips
Don’t perform Gua Sha on open wounds, broken skin, active acne or infections.
Skip Gua Sha if you’ve had recent injectables or cosmetic treatments. Check with your practitioner first.
You can practice Gua Sha in the morning or evening.
Always prep the skin first, never perform Gua Sha on dry skin.
Start with gentle pressure that feels good for you.
If you feel discomfort reduce the pressure.
Hold your Gua Sha at a 15-45 degree angle, using a sweeping motion.
Only scrape each area 5-10 times, doing it more can overstimulate the skin and cause inflammation.
Caring for Your Gua Sha Tool
Clean your Gua Sha by rinsing under water or in the ocean and then dry with a paper towel or a soft cloth.
Cleanse energetically by placing under moonlight or on a selenite plate.
Store in a dry, safe place - ideally keep it in the cotton dust bag to protect it from scratches and energy build up.

Meet Your Teacher: Marisa Robinson
Marisa Robinson is a certified Gua Sha teacher and passionate advocate for slow, intentional self-care. With a deep appreciation for traditional healing practices, Marisa guides women in reconnecting with themselves through the art of Gua Sha facial massage and self-care rituals that go beyond the surface.
As the founder of Wild & Cruelty Free, Marisa’s approach is rooted in ethical beauty and holistic wellbeing. She believes that self-care is more than just skincare - it’s a powerful tool for inner connection, relaxation, and self-love. Her workshops and women’s self-care circles create a sacred space where women can slow down, release stress, and embrace nurturing rituals that honour both their skin and their soul.
Marisa’s Gua Sha classes blend traditional wisdom with modern techniques, teaching participants how to incorporate this ancient healing practice into their daily routines. Through her gentle guidance, women learn to use Gua Sha to boost circulation, promote lymphatic drainage, sculpt and lift the skin, and cultivate mindfulness.
Marisa’s mission is simple: to empower women to embrace slow beauty, prioritise self-care, and cultivate deep self-connection - because true beauty starts from within.
